About Dr Sunil Dutta

Col (Dr) Sunil Dutta was an active member of the Indian Defence Services for over 22 years in multiple portfolios with multifaceted responsibilities. Through his varied career, he has had the opportunity to spearhead various tasks - of which a majority had been associated with Manufacturing, Operations, R&D, Supply-Chain Management and Maintenance. He played a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of critical equipment of the Indian Army during his stints at different Overhaul and Manufacturing plants. He was a Consultant and Advisor to Senior leaders, DRDO, & OFs on all matters related to asset readiness and functionality including top management for MRO activities of critical equipment. Dr Sunil Dutta was also the founder CEO of IITI Drishti CPS Foundation Company, IIT Indore, created under National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems (NM-ICPS), by the Government of India. Dr Sunil is also an advisory member on Lightweight materials to many prestigious organizations like DRDO, BITS Pilani etc.

Col Sunil is a PhD in Manufacturing from BITS Pilani and MTech in Mechanical Engg from IIT Roorkee. He has obtained many management degrees like PGDSCM, PGDIBO, PGDDM, and DDM, including interdisciplinary degrees like BSc (Elect) and MA. In addition, Sunil has undergone 22 AICTE approved short courses at different IITs and IIMs. Sunil is also a SME on Armoured Fighting Vehicles. He has authored more than twenty-three papers as the first author, published in international journals of repute.

He is a recipient of many prestigious awards like the Chief of Army Commendation Card, Scholar Warrior Award, National Talent Search Award, Swami Von Maharaj Gold Medal, Innovative Technological Research & Dedicated Faculty Award Kuala Lumpur, and the Man of Excellence Award. He is a fellow of IIIE, ISME, and a member of many other professional bodies, besides Associate Editor in Sage Journals and Editor-in-Chief of TechEdge Unique Journal.
